Police are looking for two terror suspects after stolen police guns were recovered from their homes in Majengo, Mombasa, during a raid at 3pm on Monday.

A G3 rifle stolen from a police officer guarding Gulf Africa bank on October 2, 2015, and an M4 rifle stolen in November 2014, were recovered together with 345 bullets, 15 phones and a laptop.

Officers said the weapons belong to Hussein Omar aka Babii and Ishmael Shosi who are on the police list of most wanted terror suspects.

In July 2015, police released details of Shosi who is believed to be behind the killing of National Intelligence Service officer Hashim Omar.

The Interior ministry released the names of the two and urged the public to report to the authorities if they spot them.

“Public alert: If you have information on the whereabouts of Hassan Omar and Ishmael Shosi, talk to us 999,911 or 112,” the Ministry said via twitter on Tuesday morning.

This comes after police mounted billboards of eight wanted terror suspects along Nyerere Avenue, Mombasa, in April last year.

The suspects include Mohamed Mohamed, Suleiman Awadh, Mahir Riziki, Abdifatah Abdi alias Musa Muhajir and Hamisi Mwacheti aka Rasta aka Bilal.

Others are Muumin Muumin, Abdhall Marumu and one whose name is unknown.

A Sh2 million bounty has been placed on each of the suspects believed to have sneaked in from Somalia.

Initial reports indicated they were hiding in Majengo, Likoni and Old Town in Mombasa, and in Kwale and Lamu counties.
