Somali PM Ousted by Parliament
Mogadishu, Somalia (SOMALI AGENDA) Parliamentarians loyal to Somali President Hassan Shiekh Mohamud have successfully sacked Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed from power. Of the 235 parliamentarians present on the floor, 153 have voted for the no confidence motion.
The political crisis triggered by the cabinet reshuffle which targeted Somalia’s powerful Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Farah Shiekh Abdulqadir has finally reached its decisive end.
Somalia’s President and Farah Shiekh Abdulqadir have successfully blocked efforts by the International Community to abort the no confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
On December 2nd 2013, associates loyal to Somali President ousted former Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon in a similar manner after he developed differences with Farah Shiekh Abdulqadir.
